A short summary for our English speaking visitors

WELCOME TO FREESTYLE GRAPPLING IN MUNICH, GERMANY

Fungrappling is about experiencing your own body and emotions in direct physical interaction (sometimes competitive, but not necessarily so) with somebody else's. Our activities are primarily directed towards women (who have usually been denied such an experience before), but are also offered to men (who have usually not been allowed to explore the emotional and intergender aspects). Next to helping every individual get a better understanding of oneself, we have found that it drastically improves interpersonal relations in general and gender relations in particular. And it is clean pure fun!

Founded in 1996, we are a private group located in Munich, Germany.

In 2005, the Munich Grappling Academy was founded by several members of our group in order to promote fungrappling related activities commercially. Our products include Grapple & Cuddle Parties for adults and Grappling School for kids and teens. Workshops, seminars, coaching and event highlights are also offered.

With U.S. filmmaker Ian Ragsdale we produced a professional video documentation, with participants sharing their experiences at the first of our public events. This video is available in several formats for public performance, also with English subtitles.

On the relationship between physical self defense and gender equality, we are proud to present a contribution by female fighting pioneer Helen von Mott:
Her thesis for a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.
